Established in 1921 by Tilley Group, our company has been a leading contractor and supplier of sheet metal products to a variety of industry sectors in New Zealand and overseas.

Our advanced manufacturing equipment is housed in over 5000 square metres of production space located in Wellington, New Zealand.

The Tilley Group Ltd Tool Room is equipped with all of the machinery required to maintain our modern plant. Our Tos Kurim Finesa CNC milling machine is able to machine components in three axis. We also have a variety of lathes, bandsaws, radial drills and surface grinders.
Our welding division is equipped with MIG, TIG and Arc welding facilities for welding mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel. In addition we have spot welding facilities, deburring machines, riveting and fastening equipment.
Tilley Group Ltd has established long standing partnerships with associated industry groups enabling us to offer a comprehensive manufacturing service to all of our customers. Our story
Tilley Group Ltd was founded by Arthur Ernest Tilley (Ernie), who migrated to New Zealand from Tasmania, in 1921. A keen fisherman, Ernie had heard a lot about the abundance of river trout that flowed through New Zealand. He arrived in Wellington with 10 pounds that he borrowed from his mother and a bag of tools ready for work.
Initially, Ernie’s focus was on the motor body industry, engaging in the supply of components to the many coach building companies situated in Wellington at the time. Continue reading
